Recently Migrated Business Saves on Cloud Costs
So you want to make the move to the cloud eh? Well after getting there you may realize the costs can be a bit more than expected. This is what one of our clients experienced as they had recently undergone a cloud migration only to find their costs were significantly more than they had estimated.
After moving their GIS mapping workload to the cloud this US-based engineering firm found that their workloads in Azure were quiet expensive. Credit Union Optimizes Horizon VDI Environment
An Ohio-based credit union recently contacted IT Benchmarq (ITBM) with complaints of poor performance from their VMware Horizon environment, as well as a need for an upgrade path to the latest version to remain compliant with their support contract. ITBM engineers worked closely with the staff to determine the best path forward, including:
– Focusing on the new infrastructure buildout
– Installing an advanced profile management solution
– Hands-On Training for Staff to understand the Solutions
A new VMware Horizon infrastructure was constructed including the deployment of an advanced profile management solution that captured only what was necessary to provide the best logon and load times. ITBM took the careful time to integrate their custom line-of-business applications into the profile management solution and to ensure the client understood how to add new applications moving forward. By the end of the three month engagement, the credit union was expanding their VDI environment to include a larger percentage of their employee base.

Here at IT Benchmarq (ITBM) we pride ourselves on thinking comprehensively. To showcase this, a recent client of ours had a requirement to setup a hosted CMMC-compliant environment for a number of their clients. IT Benchmarq helped them decide on a path forward and diligently worked with them to get a net new Azure environment built with all the proper security controls required in order to meet CMMC compliance.
